We are currently part of the international response to the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak, which was first diagnosed in China in December 2019.
Our statewide efforts are being co-ordinated by our dedicated NSW Health Pathology Public Health Pathology team under the leadership of Professor Dominic Dwyer. They are supported by an Advisory Committee with representatives from key stakeholders including NSW Health, Health Protection, NSWHP’s Microbiology Clinical Stream and more.
As of 10am 29 January 2020, there are four confirmed cases for 2019-nCoV in NSW and six cases under investigation.
