 At present, respiratory test results, including COVID-19, are usually available within 24-48 hours.

When you get a COVID-19 test with NSW Health Pathology, you may also be tested for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). 

How to get your test results

There are two ways you can get your results.

Results Portal

Our Results Portal lets you securely access your COVID-19 result – whether positive or negative. You can also download a copy of your personal COVID-19 result report that has a unique QR code you can share with authorised third parties.

If you have been tested for influenza (the flu) and/or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) your results will be also be available in the Results Portal. 

To register, you will need a one-time secure passcode which will be sent to your mobile when you click on the link below.

SMS Results Service

You can also register to get your COVID-19 result by SMS.

Send an SMS with the words my result to the number listed on the flyer you were given at the clinic where you were tested and follow the prompts.

When your result is available, you will receive an SMS with your COVID-19 result and a link to the Results Portal, where you can access your results for COVID-19, influenza and/or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Are you getting tested to travel?

COVID-19 testing for international travel is conducted at private pathology clinics only and charges apply for this service. More information is on the NSW Government website.

Private pathology providers

There are lots of private pathology providers doing COVID-19 and other respiratory virus testing. We do not have access to their records and you will need to contact them directly for your result or talk to your GP. A full list of clinics and their contact details is available on the NSW Health website.
