PoCT Research and Development Centre

RandD Centre
NSW Health Pathology's innovative Point of Care Testing team are relocating its research and development centre from Royal North Shore Hospital pathology laboratory at St Leonards to Maryville, Newcastle from March 2021. The centre will have dedicated spaced for:

• Device and IoT configuration
• Device evaluation and performance testing
• Simulation activities including environment, workflow and manual handling assessment
• Digital solutions simulations and demonstrations
• Virtual reality development and testing
• Showcasing events and customer demonstrations

Andrew Sargeant, PoCT Director has said, "The research and development team are excited about the change. The extra space and having all the team in one location will foster innovation and fast track some life changing health solutions. Also being close to Newie Ventures, a local leader in digital solutions, will hopefully accelerate some of the digital health solutions ideas coming to reality".

Following its formation in 2012, NSW Health Pathology continues to mature and remain committed to our purpose of creating better health and justice systems. To help shape our future, we have held thousands of conversations with our staff, board, customers, partners and community representatives.

It was clear from these valuable contributions that we know why we come to work, what unites us and what sets us apart as an organisation: caring, connecting and pioneering for all of us. The PoCT team is one part of the broader team.
