Professor Roger Wilson

Roger is committed to seeing that the value of pathology is both maximised and recognised. Prior to his current role, Roger was the Director of South Eastern Area Laboratory Services (SEALS). He was previously the Director of the former Nepean & Blue Mountains Pathology Service and consultant Clinical Microbiologist at Royal Perth Hospital. Roger graduated from Otago University in 1977 and rotated through each discipline of pathology at Dunedin Hospital before moving to Australia to complete training in clinical microbiology at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), is an RCPA Board member and RCPA Councillor for NSW and ACT. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
Roger is a Conjoint Professor in the School of Medical Sciences at UNSW and Visiting Fellow at Macquarie University, represents NSW Health on the National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council and is a member of several Commonwealth and NSW Government working parties and committees.
He is a past President of the National Coalition of Public Pathology and served as Chairman of the RCPA QAP Benchmarking in Pathology quality assurance program for 10 years.
