Service delivery

The LHDs customer contacts we consulted indicated they were mostly satisfied with the quality of services we provide, including diagnostic, blood management and clinical services.

However, they wanted better information about key performance measures for pathology, including turnaround times.

They also wanted better, easier access to results, including patient results that may cross hospital and/or NSW Health Pathology boundaries. This has implications for ICT connectivity and functionality.

There was a general view that the need for clinical interpretation and advice is growing in regional areas, as hospitals are developed and the types of services offered in regional areas changes. 

Needs in rural areas are also growing as LHDs increase capacity outside regional referral hospitals, and LHDs want to understand how we can help.
